“Every child must know that they are a miracle!  Since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been or until the end of the world,  there will not be another child like them!”

About the Author

Following a career of traveling across the US, Canada and various parts of the world, providing teachers a curriculum for teaching color and design, Vicki Rhodes-Merryweather changed her focus to stay home and teach children’s ART & CREATIVITY! “The process and importance of creativity is often overlooked. When beginning to teach in Japan, because their culture considers functioning best as a UNIT, the students were uncertain about creating their own designs. After numerous successful seminars, I noticed that being creativity was being embraced, encouraged and was becoming the primary focus of their media. Creative Thinking is going beyond limitations and being original and fresh with ideas and most important PROBLEM SOLVING! “
Art has changed my life and given me so much including numerous opportunities for myself and Cynthia, to work as a CREATIVE CONSULTANT for a huge Corporation, providing artwork, video’s and numerous promotional presentations. One product launch included a television spot on Good Morning America, prior to the presentation for magazines and the press at Madam Trousseau’s Waxed museum in downtown New York.
I have authored and coauthored several books along with numerous national and international magazine articles.
I felt the need to share with others that which has given me so much. Weekly classes at the ART GARAGE were to provide an outlet for any child including those students that are not into sports, dancing or other mainstream activities.
The ART GARAGE became the positive, safe place for students from 6 to 18! My goal has always been to not only teach the students ART FOUNDATION skills, but to embrace the creative process and most important encourage self love, compassion, and acceptance.
Many of my students have attended classes for over 12 years. I watch their love of art and imaginations explode. Their skills, self confidence, self acceptance and creativity GROW, spilling over into other facets of their lives! Teaching these kids has been the most wonderful opportunity I could ever have imagined. They believe how AWESOME they are and they can do ANYTHING.
